Defensive Training: Dwarves gain a 4 point dodge bonus to Reflexes against monsters of the giant subtype.
Craftsman: Dwarves are known for their superior craftsmanship when it comes to metallurgy and stonework. Dwarves with this racial trait receive a 2 point racial bonus on all Build and Repair or Harvest checks related to metal or stone. This racial trait replaces greed.
Hatred: Dwarves gain a 1 point racial bonus on attack rolls against humanoid creatures of the orc and goblinoid subtypes because of their special training against these hated foes.
Hardy: Dwarves gain a 2 point racial bonus on saving throws against poison, spells, and spell-like abilities.
Mountaineer: Mountain dwarves are skilled at climbing and navigating narrow ledges. Dwarves with this racial trait are immune to altitude sickness and do not take a penalty to Reflexes when making Climb or Acrobatics checks to cross narrow or slippery surfaces. This racial trait replaces stability.
Stonecunning: Dwarves gain a 2 point bonus on Awareness checks to notice unusual stonework, such as traps and hidden doors located in stone walls or floors. They receive a check to notice such features whenever they pass within 10 feet of them, whether or not they are actively looking.
Weapon Familiarity: Dwarves get free specialization with Melee: Axe/Hammer and Throwing Axe/Hammer.
Valden is an experienced mercenary who has left behind a number of former allies as smoking corpses. He is extremely brave and aggressive as long as he is confident he has the edge, but when a team he is on makes a particularly beg score he often finds it easier to get a new group later than to split the rewards.
Valden’s Assault Hardsuit: This heavy powered armor blurs the line between infantry and mechanized forces, effectively transforming a foot soldier into a walking tank. The composite and carbon fiber plating provides the heaviest personal armor available, and the heavy-duty batteries allow for 24 hours of operation. The assault hardsuit is more plodding, methodical, and less nimble on the move than an unarmored soldier, but it does offer an effective Lifting of 6D. When traveling overland, the power-assist servos allow the wearer to walk for up to 12 straight hours without rest. The headsup display on the viewscreen provides all the benefits of a personal communicator, digital binoculars, laser sight, and digital mapbox. The assault hardsuit can also be sealed for self-contained operations in a hostile environment for up to three hours. In this mode, it provides all the benefits of a hostile environment suit and vacuum suit. The hardsuit provides the user with damage reduction 10/— figured into the AR rating above. Valden’s Assault hardsuit is equipped with an integral assault blaster and Grenade Launcher in one arm, a set of slashing claws in the other, and a shoulder-mounted, multishot missile launcher. The launcher includes an armored ammunition case on the hardsuit’s back, and the missiles are machine-fed to the launcher from this case. It is considered masterwork and the suit and the assault blaster are both enchanted.
